They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, but what about when it pours and thunders all day, then breaks with shining sun, JUST in time for bride and groom portraits?! That sounds super lucky to me! But Laura and John are lucky regardless. I was so grateful to get to be their Colorado wedding photographer and capture some sweet moments for them. Aren’t they cute? They got married at the Double Tree, then we headed down to the Heritage Gardens downtown for their bride and groom portraits. It was just perfect with all the summer foliage and not to mention the glowy sun shining through the trees. Their reception was held at Phantom Canyon Brewery on the 3rd floor and it was just perfect. My Colorado wedding photographer heart was SO happy to be along for this ride! I’m sure you’ll also enjoy the photos below!
Colorado Adventure Wedding Photographer | Woodland Park Edgewood Inn Elopement
I love that I get to photograph weddings for out of state couples. It’s pretty neat that I get to live in a state that people fly into from all across the US for destination weddings. Anne & Dylan were one of them and came all the way from sunny California. They were the sweetest pair and just so bubbly and loving. They trusted me to capture their day even though we’d never met in person, and had only communicated via email. It couldn’t have worked out more perfectly. They got married at a cute bed and breakfast in Woodland Park, The Edgewood Inn and it was the best spot for their intimate wedding. To top it off, Anne wore her mom’s wedding dress and totally rocked it! They did it first look that was a little different than most- it went both ways. Dylan was of course excited to see Anne, but Anne was also excited to see Dylan because he kept ALL details about his suit and attire a secret. Anne’s reaction upon seeing him was pretty priceless. You’ll see below that these two are fun, totally in love, and the most genuine. Enjoy these sweet photos of Anne & Dylan!
Kaja & Wyatt | Scottsdale Sunrise Couples Session
Before Christmas time, I offered my once-per-year special of gift a session to a friend or family and receive a complimentary session for yourself! Kaja was the first person to purchase the deal, and I was so excited when she did. I had previously taken Kaja and Wyatt’s wedding photos when they got married two summers ago at Bristol Harbor in New York, so I was even more excited to get to be able to take their photos again!
Fall Mountain Engagement Session | Laci & Steven
Recently, I’ve started to put extra special focus on candids during sessions. Laci & Steven were the perfect couple to kick this off with for their fall mountain engagement session at Bear Creek Dog Park. These two are getting married at the Rustic Lace Barn in Colorado Springs next September, and thanks to being on their preferred vendor list, they found me on the list and selected me as their wedding photographer. YAY. They came down from Fort Collins to meet me in the Springs for their fall mountain engagement session. It was the perfect day, as the sun was shining and the leaves were just about at their peak color.
I’ll tell ya, I just love it when couples are fun and loving in front of the camera, and Laci & Steven were just that. They danced, they smooched, they giggled and they joked. And they even laughed at my jokes. The PERFECT subjects for my new focus on candidness (is that a word?), and a couple I’m so excited to photograph next fall for their gorgeous wedding. Anyone looking for a fun mountain engagement session should get some tips from these two lovebirds! I’m sure you’ll be able to tell I was smiling the whole time behind the camera.
Colorado Springs Engagement Session | Garden of the Gods
Engagement session inquiries are some of my favorite to get. But to make one even better, is when you get one from a friend from college. I went to Penn State with Jess and was so excited when she told me she and her brand spankin’ new fiancé would be traveling to Colorado for Thanksgiving and wanted a Colorado Springs engagement session at Garden of the Gods. They were so freshly engaged, that she hadn’t even announced the proposal yet outside of close friends and family, and wanted to wait so she could use the engagement photos to let the cat out of the bag. I was HONORED. It was a perfect, and pretty typical, actually, November day in Colorado with the sun brightly shining and showing off our gorgeous mountain landscape. Their Colorado Springs engagement session at Garden of the Gods was just stunning. I’ll never get sick of the bright orange rocks. Jess and Matt surely make a great pair and I’m so excited that they’ll be getting married next next June in Pennsylvania. What lucky people these two are to have found each other!
